Eternal Security Has To Be True

We are not telling people how to think. It is our desire that all men and women think on their own based on reasonable, logical, and rational facts. God is not the God of confusion (I Corinthians 14:33 KJV). God is the God of order (I Corinthians 14:40 KJV). God is the God of LOVE (Romans 5:8 KJV). I cannot save anyone, only Jesus the Christ can save a person (John 10:28 KJV). I cannot add to the church (body of Christ), only Jesus the Christ can add to the church (Matthew 16:18 KJV) that He loved and died for (Ephesians 5:25 KJV). However, it is my job to be faithful to the Word of God and share the Word of God (Titus 1:9 KJV). Because faith cometh by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17 KJV). It is your job to search the scriptures to see if what we are saying is true (Acts 17:11 KJV). If it is true, believe it (Acts 16:31 KJV). The Gospel of Christ is simple to understand (II Corinthians 11:3 KJV), it is man and Satan that pervert the clear Gospel of Christ (II Corinthians 4:3-6 KJV).

In this article, we will be talking about eternal life and everlasting life which means eternal security. Eternal life and everlasting life are promised to every believer who trusts in Christ’s death payment for sin (all sin), burial, and resurrection as their ONLY HOPE to save them from a Hell they deserve to a Heaven they do not deserve. The very second a person trusts in Christ alone for salvation, that person receives eternal life, everlasting life: they have eternal security.

When a person trusts in Christ alone for salvation, they believe in Jesus the Christ as their only hope to save them from a Hell they deserve to a Heaven they do not deserve, they receive eternal life. The reason every believer in Christ alone can know they have eternal life is that Christ paid for all their sin. The reason every believer in Christ alone can know they have eternal life is that God promised them eternal life. The reason every believer in Christ alone can know they have eternal life is that it is written in the Word of God. God cannot lie, and He promises eternal life to everyone who trusts in Christ alone. God wants His children to know they have eternal life. God wants His children to know they are going to Heaven when they die. God wants His children to know that they are not going to Hell when they die. Does God want people to think they “might” get into Heaven? No! Absolutely not! If a person is thinking they “might get in” or they “might not get in,” they do not understand the Gospel of Christ and they are probably trusting in their own merit to save themselves. Why is the doctrine of eternal security offensive to individuals? We do not know “why” individuals are opposed to the biblical doctrine of eternal security. (Personally, I give thanks every day knowing I have eternal life, I am so grateful to know where I am going (Heaven) and know where I am not going (Hell) because of what Christ did for me.) We believe the doctrine of eternal security is the basis for understanding grace, mercy, hope, forgiveness, the gift of salvation, and the work is done. The doctrine of eternal security is the basis for understanding who Jesus claims to be which is Christ, the Messiah, the eternal Son of God.

Eternal Security has to be true or it is not of grace. The Bible says every person is saved by grace. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV). Grace means unmerited favor. Every person that is saved does not deserve to be saved and that is why it is called grace. Nobody deserves to go to Heaven. All mankind deserves to go to Hell. However, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us and freely gives us eternal life when we believe what He did for us at Calvary. Pastors will tell individuals that they must “turn from sin” to be saved. If a person has to turn from sin, that is not of grace, that is a “works for salvation” message. The pastor is telling somebody that they have to stop “being bad” to get to Heaven and that is not of grace. Pastors will also tell individuals that they must be “more Christ-like” to be saved. If a person has to be more “ Christ-like” to be saved, that is not of grace, that is a “works for salvation” message. The pastor is telling somebody that they must “be good” to get to Heaven and that is not of grace. Pastors will also tell individuals that after their saved, they will no longer sin anymore and if they do, they lose their salvation or they will say they were never really saved, to begin with. Remember, every person is saved by grace, they do not deserve it. It does not make sense nor is it scriptural to tell someone that they will no longer sin if they are saved because that contradicts the grace message. If a person is saved by grace (they do not deserve salvation), now after a person is saved (they believed the Gospel of Christ), a pastor tells a person they have to keep earning it! No! If a person has to earn salvation, that is not of grace. If a person has to keep salvation, that is not of grace. Either grace is grace or grace is not grace. Eternal security is a biblical doctrine that proves it is by grace and forever by grace. Nobody deserves to go to Heaven, it is by grace. Nobody deserves to keep going to Heaven forever, it is by grace. Remember, if a person can lose their salvation (they cannot), then salvation is not of grace but a reward and if salvation is earned, there is no need for Christ’s death payment for sin because people have to earn salvation by “being good” which we know salvation by “being good” is a false deceptive message and contradictory to the Word of God. Thank GOD salvation is freely received in Christ alone! Therefore, every person that is going to Heaven is saved by God’s grace -it is God’s POWER that forever changes a person’s eternal destiny when they believe the Gospel of Christ. To understand grace, one has to understand eternal security or one does not understand grace.

Eternal Security has to be true or there is no mercy. The Bible says, “To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour” (Titus 1:4 KJV). Mercy means not getting what a person deserves. Every person deserves to go to Hell (for all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory; there is none righteous, no not one). However, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us and freely gives us eternal life when we believe what He did for us at Calvary. Mercy is not going to Hell today or any other time in the future after a person trusts in Christ alone for salvation. If there is a possibility of going to Hell in the future, that is not mercy. Mercy is knowing that all people deserve Hell; however, the very second a person trusts in Christ alone for salvation, they will never go to Hell -that is mercy. If a person could go to Hell a year from now, five years from now, 10 years from now, that would not be mercy. To understand mercy, one has to understand eternal security or one does not understand mercy.

Eternal Security has to be true or there is no hope. “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began” (Titus 1:2 KJV). “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13 KJV). “That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:7 KJV). If Christ did not die for 100% of our sins, there is no hope. If Christ died for 99.9% of my sins, there still is no hope. Sin requires a death payment. If Christ’s death on the Cross does not pay for every one of our sins, we are but hopeless, helpless, hell-bound sinners. Biblical hope is not a “maybe”; biblical hope is knowing that God cannot lie, He always delivers. Biblical hope is knowing that Christ saved me from 100% of judgment for my sins (His death for my debt of sins) for all eternity; He saved me from a Hell I deserve to a Heaven I do not deserve. To understand hope, one has to understand eternal security or one does not understand hope.

Eternal Security has to be true or there is no forgiveness. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7 KJV). If a person could lose their salvation because of some future sin that Christ did not pay for at Calvary, that is not forgiveness, that is condemnation. However, since all mankind’s sins are paid in full at Calvary (His death for our debt of sins), there is forgiveness and there is not one child of God (believer in Christ alone) that will come into a future condemnation. If a person is not forgiven from the very second they believe in Christ alone (apart from works), they will never be forgiven. However, Christ forgave us for all our sins by shedding His blood and since He was judged for all of mankind’s sins, every believer truly has forgiveness and will not come into a future condemnation. Every child of God has been forgiven the very second their faith was placed in Jesus Christ as their only hope of salvation and at that very same second, they were forever forgiven. To understand forgiveness, one has to understand eternal security or one does not understand forgiveness.

Eternal security has to be true or it is not a gift. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV). There is no church, no law-keeping, no ritual, no sacrament, no tradition or work of men that can pay for sin. Sin requires a death payment. Why in the world would anyone want to go to Hell and pay for all their sins when Christ already died for all their sins? We do not understand why anyone would reject the free gift of eternal life. The reason it is a gift is the work for salvation is already done. If a person has to be good, keep the law, join a church, give money, follow a ritual, complete a sacrament, or do some deeds for salvation (to go to Heaven), that would not be a gift but a reward. However, salvation, going to Heaven, is a free gift only received when a person trusts in Christ’s redemptive work at the Cross of Calvary. All God wants is for every person to trust in Him: believe His work and His word. To understand that going to Heaven is free gift, one has to understand eternal security or one does not understand the gift of salvation.

Eternal Security has to be true or the work is not done. “I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do” (John 17:4 KJV). “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost” (John 19:30 KJV). Jesus said these things as if the works were already done because when it came to pass, there would be no doubt that He is who He claims to be which is Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God. “And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe” (John 14:29 KJV). To believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, is to understand that He is sinlessly perfect and infallible (without mistake) and His Word is His bond, He cannot lie. When Christ says the work for sin IS FINISHED, it means IT IS FINISHED. Eternal life proves the WORK IS DONE: the payment for sin is paid in full. To understand “the work” for salvation is done, one has to understand eternal security or one does not understand “the work” that Jesus the Christ completed at Calvary.

Eternal life proves Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Messiah, the ONE and TRUE GOD! “As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:2-3 KJV). “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (I John 5:20 KJV). To know eternal life is to know Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. If a person believes they can lose their salvation, they do not understand Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus, the Christ is fully God and fully paid the penalty of sin in full. Jesus, the Christ, was resurrected from the dead to show all mankind that He paid a satisfied sacrifice for sin. Since Jesus the Christ paid for all sin for all mankind, He freely gives eternal life to anyone who believes or trusts in Him alone for salvation. To understand who Jesus the Christ, the Son of God is, one has to understand eternal security or one does not understand who Jesus the Christ is because He is ETERNAL LIFE!

Eternal security has to be true or the Gospel is false. The Gospel of Christ is that He paid for every sin for every person that has ever lived or will live by His death on the Cross; He was buried; He resurrected from the grave three days later. When a person believes in the Gospel of Christ, that person can KNOW they are forever going to Heaven, they can KNOW they have eternal life, and they can KNOW they will never go to Hell because Christ paid for all their sin. To understand the Gospel of Christ, one has to understand they can never lose their salvation, they can never come into a future condemnation, they will never go to Hell, they will forever go to Heaven because Christ paid for all their sin. To understand eternal security is to understand the Gospel of Christ; to understand the Gospel of Christ is to understand eternal security.

If you have never received Jesus Christ as Savior, what is stopping you right now from accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior? In your mind you can say something, “I don’t know everything; however, I know I do not want to go to Hell and I want to go to Heaven when I die. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for all my sins, buried for me, and resurrected for me.” Trust in Jesus Christ as your only hope to save you from a Hell you deserve to a Heaven you do not deserve because only the Gospel of Christ can change your eternal destiny from eternal darkness to eternal light. “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14 KJV). Receive Jesus Christ as your Savior today and be born again and forever a child of God. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13 KJV). The very second you place your faith in Christ alone, you receive eternal life and you forever have eternal life because Christ paid for all your sins. When a person trusts in Christ alone for salvation, that person can “know” they are going to Heaven when they die because the Bible says they can “know.” “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (I John 5:13 KJV).

THE PLAN OF SALVATION - THE GOSPEL

The Gospel is Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins (past, present, and future), He was buried, and He resurrected the third day to show us the payment for sin is paid in full.

  • I Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

God loves you. Lord Savior Jesus Christ was revealed in the flesh for one reason: to save us from our sins. Jesus Christ does not come to condemn individuals. Jesus Christ comes to save us because we are all Hell doomed sinners without the Blood of Jesus Christ.

  • John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

All individuals are sinners. The payment for sin is death.

  • Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

  • Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ died for your sin and resurrected for you.

  • II Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

  • I Corinthians 15:3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

If you believe in Christ alone, you receive eternal life.

  • John 6:47: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

  • I John 5:13: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If you could be “saved” by being water baptized, doing good works, be a good person, or following the Ten Commandments? Why did (the God from Eternity Past, the God from Eternity Future) the Ever Presence Jesus Christ reveal Himself in the flesh and die on the Cross and resurrect the third day? No church can reconcile. No sacrament can save. No work or tradition of men can redeem. Only Jesus Christ can save a person from a Hell they deserve to a Heaven they do not deserve -all by grace!

  • Galatians 2:21: I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

If you could earn salvation by doing those things, then Jesus Christ died in vain. However, Jesus Christ did not die in vain. Jesus Christ made a perfect sacrifice for sin. He is the Lamb of God, and only the Lamb of God can make a perfect sacrifice for sin. There is only one way to Heaven, and it is the belief in the Finished Redemptive Work of Jesus Christ.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

  • Philippians 3:9: And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.

  • Galatians 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

  • Titus 3:5: Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

The resurrection is proof God the Father accepted Jesus Christ’s death payment for sin -death payment of past, present, and future sin: ALL SIN!

People DO NOT go to Hell because they are “bad.” People go to Hell because they believe NOT the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People trust NOT in Jesus Christ as their Savior. People believe NOT Jesus Christ died on the Cross for their sins, burial, and resurrection. People do NOT trust alone in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

  • II Thessalonians 1:8-9: In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.

Know that God is gracious to you. He has already died for all your sins (past, present, and future), He was buried for you showing all the world He died for your sins, and He was resurrected for you, showing all the world that Jesus Christ fulfilled what the Father asked Him to do: IT IS FINISHED! Your sins are paid in full. I pray you to believe in Jesus Christ right now for salvation -believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sin, burial, and resurrection. Trust alone in Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you know someone who is “not saved,” share the Gospel message with them or forward this message to them.

Once Saved, Always Saved -“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:28-30 KJV).
