Teachers of the Law understand NOT what they say – I Timothy 1:7

Teachers of the Law – I Timothy 1:7

“Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm” (I Timothy 1:7 KJV).

THE LAW: UNBEARABLE YOKE

The Bible is truly clear that whosoever teaches the law for salvation does not know what they preach. “Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm” (I Timothy 1:7 KJV).

The Bible is truly clear that the law is an unbearable yoke. Why would a pastor, priest, reverend, minister, or teacher of the Bible put a yoke upon someone that neither themselves nor anyone can bear? “But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, that it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; and put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear” (Acts 15:5-10 KJV).

The law is an unbearable yoke for all mankind. The law was given to point sinners to Jesus Christ. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:24-26 KJV).

Do not yoke up with the law because it is unbearable. The law keeps people imprisoned. Yoke up with Christ because His yoke is light. Jesus Christ is a chain breaker and frees a person from being imprisoned. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30 KJV). The law will never give a person rest; however, a person can have rest in Jesus Christ because the work has already been done. Believe the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ.

THE LAW: WITNESS TO MAN THAT HE IS GUILTY BEFORE GOD

The law declares there is none righteous before God. “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10 KJV). The law says all mankind is guilty before God. “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God” (Romans 3:19 KJV). The Bible says the law will justify no one. “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin” (Romans 3:20 KJV). The law says all mankind has sinned. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23 KJV). The Bible says if a person offends one law, that person has offended all the law. “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10 KJV).

The best a person can ever do in God’s eyes is a filthy rag. “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away” (Isaiah 64:6 KJV).

Individuals need to stop trusting in their works, rituals, sacraments, or traditions of men to pay for sin. Individuals need to understand that the law was given to mankind, so all mankind knows they are sinners and guilty before God.

Now a person knows they are a guilty sinner before God, why not trust in Christ alone for salvation. Today is the day of salvation. Today is the day to believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for all your sin (past, present, and future). Today is the day to believe Jesus Christ was buried for you. Today is the day to believe Jesus Christ resurrected for you. God loves you just as you are. He demonstrated this love by paying all of your sin debt in full. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 KJV).

THE LAW: NO MAN JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW

The law has never saved anyone. The law will never save anyone. If a person thinks they will be saved by keeping the law, they are dead wrong. The Bible says, “no flesh justified by the law.” “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin” (Romans 3:20 KJV). “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law” (Romans 3:28 KJV). “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified” (Galatians 2:16 KJV). “Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39 KJV). There will never be a man justified by the law.

The end of the law is Christ. “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth” (Romans 10:4 KJV). Jesus Christ fulfilled the law by one word, love. “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Galatians 5:14 KJV). Jesus Christ laid down His life for you because He loves you. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13 KJV).

The law can never save a person; however, Jesus Christ saves all who come to Him by faith. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18 KJV).

THE LAW: REQUIRES A DEATH PAYMENT FOR SIN

The law requires a death payment for all sin. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23 KJV). All sin requires a death payment. “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22 KJV).

Jesus Christ bared all of mankind’s sins when He was hanging on the Cross of Calvary. “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (I Peter 2:24 KJV).

Jesus Christ became sin for all mankind, so mankind could receive the righteousness required to get to Heaven. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (II Corinthians 5:21 KJV).

THE LAW: NOT OF GLORY

Paul does not thank the law, his priest, his Rabbi, or his heritage. Paul thanks Jesus Christ: “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief” (I Timothy 1:12-13 KJV).

Paul praises Jesus Christ because all blessings come from Jesus Christ. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3 KJV).

There is only ONE to thank: Jesus Christ. “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord” (I Corinthians 1:30-31 KJV).

If a person wants to glory, let them glory in the Cross of Jesus Christ. “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world” (Galatians 6:14 KJV). Jesus Christ saves mankind from a Hell they deserve to a Heaven they do not. The law condemns individuals. Jesus Christ frees individuals from the condemnation. Let it be known; there is no glorying in the law. Let us glory in the Finished Redemptive Work of Jesus Christ.

THE LAW: FULFILLED BY JESUS CHRIST

If a person could be saved by doing good works, keeping the law, or following the Ten Commandments, why did (the God from Eternity Past, the God from Eternity Future) the Ever-Presence Jesus Christ reveal Himself in the flesh, die on the Cross, and resurrect the third day? “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain” (Galatians 2:21 KJV). If a person could earn salvation by doing those things, then Jesus Christ died in vain. If a person could earn salvation by the law, then Jesus Christ death on the Cross was a mistake! However, Jesus Christ did not die in vain; it was not a mistake. Jesus Christ made a perfect sacrifice for sin. “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2 KJV).

Jesus Christ fulfilled the law. “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled” (Matthew 5:17-18 KJV). The payment for sin is paid in full. Jesus Christ is a satisfied sacrifice for sin. His resurrection is proof that He is a satisfied sacrifice for sin. IT IS FINISHED! Jesus Christ fulfilled the Law.

Jesus Christ loves you so much; He died to meet you. Jesus Christ voluntarily went to the Cross of Calvary and died for all your sins (past, present, and future), He was buried, and He resurrected the third day showing you His sacrifice for sin is sufficient –IT IS FINISHED. If you have not received Jesus Christ as your Savior, what is stopping you right now from accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior? Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection. Trust not in the law for salvation; however, trust in Christ alone as your Savior today, and know you have stepped from death unto eternal life. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24 KJV).

THE PLAN OF SALVATION - THE GOSPEL

The Gospel is Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins (past, present, and future), He was buried, and He resurrected the third day to show us the payment for sin is paid in full.

  • I Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

God loves you. Lord Savior Jesus Christ was revealed in the flesh for one reason, and that is to save us from our sins. Jesus Christ does not come to condemn individuals. Jesus Christ comes to save us because we are all Hell doomed sinners without the Blood of Jesus Christ.

  • John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

All individuals are sinners. The payment for sin is death.

  • Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

  • Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ died for your sin and resurrected for you.

  • I Corinthians 15:3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

  • II Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

If you believe in Christ alone, you receive eternal life.

  • John 6:47: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

  • I John 5:13: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If you could earn salvation by the following: being baptized (infant or adult), going to communion, going to confession, partaking in confirmation, asking Jesus into your heart, giving money, doing good works, being a good person, follow the Ten Commandments, or any other ritual, sacrament, tradition or work? Why did the Ever Presence Jesus Christ (the God from Eternity Past, the God from Eternity Future) reveal Himself in the flesh and die on the Cross for sin and resurrect the third day?

  • Galatians 2:21: I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

If you could earn salvation by doing those things mentioned above, then Jesus Christ died in vain. However, Jesus Christ did not die in vain. Jesus Christ made a perfect sacrifice for sin. He is the Lamb of God, and only the Lamb of God can make a perfect sacrifice for sin. There is only one way to Heaven, and it is the belief in the Finished Redemptive Work of Jesus Christ.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

  • Philippians 3:9: And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

  • Galatians 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

  • Titus 3:5: Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

The resurrection is proof God the Father accepted Jesus Christ’s death payment for sin -death payment of past, present, and future sin.

People DO NOT go to Hell because they are “bad.” People go to Hell because they believe NOT the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People trust NOT in Jesus Christ as their Savior. People believe NOT Jesus Christ died on the Cross for their sins, burial, and resurrection. People do NOT trust alone in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

  • II Thessalonians 1:8-9: In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Know that God is gracious to you, and He has already died for all your sins (past, present, and future), He was buried showing all the world He died for your sins, and He resurrected showing all the world that Jesus Christ fulfilled what the Father asked Him to do: IT IS FINISHED!

I pray you to believe in Jesus Christ right now for salvation -believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sin, burial, and resurrection. Trust alone in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Remember, that once you are saved, you are forever saved. You can never lose your salvation. It is the Trinity that holds onto you and seals you. You do not hold onto your salvation.

  • John 10:28-30: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.

  • Ephesians 1:13-14: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

If you know someone who is not saved, forward this message to them and share the greatest gift that one could ever receive.

Once Saved, Always Saved - “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:28-30 KJV).
