The Precious Blood of Christ – I Peter 1:18-19
The Precious Blood of Christ – I Peter 1:18-19
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (I Peter 1:18-19 KJV).
God, the Father, knowing man is a sinner; there is nothing man can do to make a perfect sacrifice for sin. The Father sent His Son because the only remedy for sin is the Blood of Jesus Christ. “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2:2 KJV). Jesus Christ did the will of the Father -He voluntarily died on the Cross for the sins of mankind, buried, and resurrected from the grave: “I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do” (John 17:4 KJV). Jesus Christ is the propitiatory sacrifice. Jesus Christ is the satisfying sacrifice for sin. Jesus Christ turned the Cross of Calvary into an altar, and as the High Priest, He offered Himself as the Lamb of God. “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29 KJV).
Peter calls the Blood of Jesus Christ, “precious.” The Blood of Jesus Christ is more precious than silver and gold. “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (I Peter 1:18-19 KJV).
The Blood of the Lamb paid the perfect sacrifice for ALL sin (past, present, and future). “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses” (Colossians 2:13 KJV). “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12 KJV).
The Blood of the Lamb provides Justification, Sanctification, Glorification, Propitiation, Perfection, Redemption, Reconciliation, Righteousness, and Peace. All these blessings are received IN Christ.
A believer is JUSTIFIED by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “justified” literally means “just as if I had” never sinned. Justification is remission (forgiveness) of sin. Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and be justified. “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him” (Romans 5:9 KJV). Justified individuals are freed from the penalty of sin received by faith in Christ alone.
A believer is SANCTIFIED by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “sanctify” means “set apart.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and be sanctified. “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate” (Hebrews 13:12 KJV). Sanctified individuals are freed from the power of sin received by faith in Christ alone.
A believer is GLORIFIED by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “glorified” means “exalted to glory.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and be glorified: at the Rapture, all believers receive a glorified body. “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself” (Philippians 3:20-21 KJV). “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (I Corinthians 15:51-52 KJV). Glorified individuals will one day be free from the presence of sin, all received by faith in Christ alone.
PROPITIATION by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “propitiation” means “satisfied sacrifice.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and the propitiatory sacrifice of Jesus Christ put to your account. “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (I John 4:10 KJV). “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God” (Romans 3:25 KJV). Jesus Christ is the satisfying sacrifice put to your account, all received by faith in Christ alone.
A believer is PERFECTED by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “perfected” means “finished” or “completed.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and perfected. “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified” (Hebrews 10:14 KJV). Jesus Christ paid the perfect sacrifice for sin so you can be perfect in Him. The perfection received is positionally placed in the perfect position of Jesus Christ. Perfection received by faith in Christ alone.
A believer receives REDEMPTION by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “redeemed” means to be “bought back” or “delivered from bondage.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and be redeemed. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7 KJV). The price for sin has been paid in full -the blood of Jesus Christ. Redemption received by faith in Christ alone.
A believer has RECONCILIATION by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “reconciled” means to be “brought back into favor or friendship.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and be reconciled. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (II Corinthians 5:17-21 KJV). The only way a sinner can be in favor with God the Father is through our Intercessor, Mediator, Savior Jesus Christ. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 KJV). Reconciliation received by faith in Christ alone.
A believer receives RIGHTEOUSNESS by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “righteousness” means “perfection” or “holiness.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and be seen righteous. “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith” (Philippians 3:9 KJV). The righteousness required to get to Heaven is freely received by faith in Christ alone.
A believer has PEACE by the Blood of Jesus Christ. The word “peace” means “quietness” or “calmness.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection, and receive peace. “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1 KJV). Peace received by faith in Christ alone.
Jesus Christ’s blood doesn’t just cover our sin; Jesus Christ’s blood removes our sin away forever! “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself” (Hebrews 9:24-26 KJV). Jesus Christ’s Blood Sacrifice Is All-Sufficient!
All these blessings are received IN Christ. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3 KJV). Either you are “in Christ,” or you are “not in Christ.” The only way to get IN Christ is to believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ: believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection. Believe the Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ and be “washed in the Blood.” “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood” (Revelation 1:5 KJV).
What can make me whole again, nothing but the PRECIOUS BLOOD of Jesus! What can wash away my sins, nothing but the PRECIOUS BLOOD of Jesus!
God the Father accepted the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the payment of sin. Jesus Christ’s resurrection is proof God the Father accepted Jesus Christ’s death payment for sin. Why can’t you accept what Jesus Christ has done for you? What is stopping you right now from accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior; today is the day to be “washed in the Blood.” Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection: trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior today.
THE PLAN OF SALVATION - THE GOSPEL
The Gospel is Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins (past, present, and future), He was buried, and He resurrected the third day to show us the payment for sin is paid in full.
I Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
God loves you. Lord Savior Jesus Christ was revealed in the flesh for one reason, and that is to save us from our sins. Jesus Christ does not come to condemn individuals. Jesus Christ comes to save us because we are all Hell doomed sinners without the Blood of Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
All individuals are sinners. The payment for sin is death.
Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Christ died for your sin and resurrected for you.
I Corinthians 15:3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
II Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
If you believe in Christ alone, you receive eternal life.
John 6:47: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
I John 5:13: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
If you could earn salvation by the following: being baptized (infant or adult), going to communion, going to confession, partaking in confirmation, asking Jesus into your heart, giving money, doing good works, being a good person, follow the Ten Commandments, or any other ritual, sacrament, tradition or work? Why did the Ever Presence Jesus Christ (the God from Eternity Past, the God from Eternity Future) reveal Himself in the flesh and die on the Cross for sin and resurrect the third day?
Galatians 2:21: I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
If you could earn salvation by doing those things mentioned above, then Jesus Christ died in vain. However, Jesus Christ did not die in vain. Jesus Christ made a perfect sacrifice for sin. He is the Lamb of God, and only the Lamb of God can make a perfect sacrifice for sin. There is only one way to Heaven, and it is the belief in the Finished Redemptive Work of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Philippians 3:9: And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Galatians 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Titus 3:5: Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
The resurrection is proof God the Father accepted Jesus Christ’s death payment for sin -death payment of past, present, and future sin.
People DO NOT go to Hell because they are “bad.” People go to Hell because they believe NOT the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People trust NOT in Jesus Christ as their Savior. People believe NOT Jesus Christ died on the Cross for their sins, burial, and resurrection. People do NOT trust alone in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
II Thessalonians 1:8-9: In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
Know that God is gracious to you, and He has already died for all your sins (past, present, and future), He was buried showing all the world He died for your sins, and He resurrected showing all the world that Jesus Christ fulfilled what the Father asked Him to do: IT IS FINISHED!
I pray you to believe in Jesus Christ right now for salvation -believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sin, burial, and resurrection. Trust alone in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Remember, that once you are saved, you are forever saved. You can never lose your salvation. It is the Trinity that holds onto you and seals you. You do not hold onto your salvation.
John 10:28-30: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.
Ephesians 1:13-14: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
If you know someone who is not saved, forward this message to them and share the greatest gift that one could ever receive.

Once Saved, Always Saved - “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:28-30 KJV).
