Departing from the Faith – I Timothy 4:1-3
I Timothy 4:1-3: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
Some will depart from the doctrine of faith. Depart from the doctrine of Jesus Christ is God. Depart from the doctrine of eternal life. Depart from the doctrine that man is a sinner and deserves Hell. Depart from the doctrine of Jesus Christ paid for all sin at the Cross of Calvary. Depart from the doctrine of Jesus Christ's resurrection. Depart from the doctrine of salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, documented in the scriptures alone, so, God receives the Glory alone. Depart from the doctrine of grace. Depart from the doctrine of “once saved always saved.” Depart from the doctrine if a person does not believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV), they go to Hell/Lake of Fire for all eternity. Individuals depart from the doctrine of faith because of seducing spirits, doctrines of devils, pride, and their conscience is seared.
Individuals depart from the faith because of seducing spirits. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak” (Ephesians 6:10-20 KJV).
Individuals depart from the faith because of the doctrines of devils. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (I John 4:1-4 KJV). “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (II Corinthians 4:4-6 KJV). “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (II Corinthians 11:14-15 KJV).
Individuals depart from the faith because individuals are filled with pride and would rather glory in their work than the Finished Redemptive Work of Christ. Let us review a list of rituals, sacraments, traditions, and works that will not save. Religions teach one can confess one's sins to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can say a sinner’s prayer to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can ask Jesus into your heart to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel Religions teach one can “surrender your life” to Jesus to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can “stop sinning” to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can feel sorry for your sin to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can turn away from your sin to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can walk to the front of the church and get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can get water baptized to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can get infants baptized to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can be a member of a certain church organization to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can give enough money to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can make Jesus “King and Lord of your life” to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can follow the Ten Commandments or keep the law to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can “outweigh the good over the bad” one has done in one’s life to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can believe in God (a higher power) to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can submit to Jesus to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can partake in confirmation to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can partake in communion to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can pray to idols like Buddha, Mary, and other idols to get saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one has to work and show “he is saved” to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel. Religions teach one can kill infidels to be saved; this is NOT the Gospel.
Individuals depart from faith because their conscience is seared. Individuals need to purge their conscience and know they are a sinner and need a great Savior: Jesus Christ. “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance” (Hebrews 9:11-15 KJV).
Individuals depart from the faith because of seducing spirits, doctrines of devils, pride, and their conscience is seared. Be not be entertained by seduction spirits, doctrines of devils, or glory in your work. Purge your conscience and believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation: believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection.
THE PLAN OF SALVATION - THE GOSPEL
The Gospel is Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins (past, present, and future), He was buried, and He resurrected the third day to show us the payment for sin is paid in full.
I Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
God loves you. Lord Savior Jesus Christ was revealed in the flesh for one reason, and that is to save us from our sins. Jesus Christ does not come to condemn individuals. Jesus Christ comes to save us because we are all Hell doomed sinners without the Blood of Jesus Christ.
John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
All individuals are sinners. The payment for sin is death.
Romans 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Christ died for your sin and resurrected for you.
II Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
I Corinthians 15:3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
If you believe in Christ alone, you receive eternal life.
John 6:47: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
I John 5:13: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
If you could be saved by being water baptized, doing good works, being a good person or following the Ten Commandments, why did (the God from Eternity Past, the God from Eternity Future) the Ever Presence Jesus Christ reveal Himself in the flesh and die on the Cross and resurrect the third day?
Galatians 2:21: I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
If you could earn salvation by doing those things, then Jesus Christ died in vain. However, Jesus Christ didn’t die in vain. Jesus Christ made a perfect sacrifice for sin. He is the Lamb of God, and only the Lamb of God can make a perfect sacrifice for sin. There is only one way to Heaven, and it is the belief in the Finished Redemptive Work of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Philippians 3:9: And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Galatians 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Titus 3:5: Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
The resurrection is proof God the Father accepted Jesus Christ death payment for sin -death payment of past, present, and future sin.
People DO NOT go to Hell because they are “bad.” People go to Hell because they believe NOT the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People trust NOT in Jesus Christ as their Savior. People believe NOT Jesus Christ died on the Cross for their sins, burial, and resurrection. People do NOT trust alone in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
II Thessalonians 1:8-9: In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
Know that God is gracious to you, and He has already died for all your sins (past, present, and future), He was buried showing all the world He died for your sins, and He resurrected showing all the world that Jesus Christ fulfilled what the Father asked Him to do: IT IS FINISHED!
I pray you to believe in Jesus Christ right now for salvation -believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sin, burial, and resurrection. Trust alone in Jesus Christ as your Savior.
