The Blood - I Peter 1:18-19

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (I Peter 1:18-19 KJV)

Every pastor today should be talking about the most precious thing to mankind -The Blood of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:18-19 (KJV) says: “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

Jesus Christ is the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek and offered Himself as a sacrifice -the Lamb of God. Jesus Christ turned the cross into an altar for all of mankind. “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” (Hebrews 9:24-26 KJV)

Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, He was buried to confirm His death, and three days later He resurrected from the grave, triumphant over sin, Satan, death, and the grave. Jesus Christ is alive! Thank the LORD for His grace, mercy, and love; thank the Lord for paying for our many sins with His precious blood. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:14 KJV).

There are some that teach Jesus Christ’s blood has no value or significance in and of itself. The blood is all important. “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?” (Hebrews 10:29 KJV) You are a fool to diminish all-importance of the literal, physical, blood of Jesus Christ.

The Bible teaches Jesus Christ entered into the heavenly holy place after He arose from the dead. Jesus ascended into Heaven with His blood. The blood had to be applied. “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us” (Hebrews 9:12 KJV). The Word of God centers around the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22 KJV). Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary, He shed His Blood, He turned the Cross of Calvary into an altar and then He died for the sins of mankind, Jesus Christ was buried and three days later, He resurrected from the Grave. Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven and applied His blood on the Mercy Seat in Heaven forever a remembrance for all eternity that Jesus Christ paid for all sin.

The reason we are to trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation is that He paid a perfect sacrifice for sin -the blood He shed for our sins. ONLY Jesus Christ has the nail-scarred hands and feet -no one else! Salvation is found only in Jesus Christ. Acts 4:10-12 (KJV) reports: “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” John 14:6 (KJV) says: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Only trust in Jesus Christ for Salvation for it is His blood that purchased us, sinners.

We are Redeemed by the Blood: “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7 KJV).

We are Justified by the Blood: “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him” (Romans 5:9 KJV).

We have Faith in the Blood: “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God” (Romans 3:25 KJV).

We are Washed in the Blood: “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood” (Revelation 1:5 KJV).

We are Made near by the Blood: “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ” (Ephesians 2:13 KJV).

We are Sanctified by the Blood: “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate” (Hebrews 13:12 KJV).

We have Peace by the Blood: “And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven” (Colossians 1:20 KJV).

We are Cleansed by the Blood: “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin” (I John 1:7 KJV).

Our Conscience is Purged by the Blood: “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14 KJV)

We are Purchased with the Blood: “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood” (Acts 20:28 KJV).

You have been Bought with a Price: “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” (I Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV)

If you have not believed, what is stopping you right now from believing? Believe Jesus Christ died on the Cross for your sins, burial, and resurrection and receive the greatest gift ever which is eternal life. Eternal life does not start when you die, eternal life starts the very second you believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. Why not trust in Jesus Christ today for salvation. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18 KJV)

If you know someone who is not saved, forward this message to them and share the greatest gift that one could ever receive.

Once Saved, Always Saved -"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one." (John 10:28-30 KJV)
